It’s that time of year again. I am thrilled to launch the eighth annual Daveberta Best of Alberta Politics Survey. It has been a big year in Alberta politics so I am excited to hear from you about the big political players and issues of 2024.

Submit your picks in seven categories using Google Forms:

• Who was the best Alberta MLA of 2024?

• Who was the best Alberta cabinet minister of 2024?

• Who was the best Opposition MLA of 2024?

• Who is the up and coming MLA to watch in 2025?

• What was the biggest issue of 2024?

• What was the best political play of 2024?

And this year I am pleased to introduce a new special category ahead of the 2025 municipal elections:

• Who was Alberta’s best municipal elected official of 2024?

Submissions will close on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and the top two choices in each category will be included in a round of voting starting on Tuesday, November 26. Voting on the top 2 choices in each category will be open to Daveberta subscribers (free and paid) until Monday, December 2 at 8:00 p.m. and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 3 on daveberta.substack.com.

The survey is all about celebrating the best in Alberta politics, so if there is a person who doesn’t fit neatly into any of these categories who deserves some kudos and recognition, please send me an email and let me know.
